The Experience

As soon as you step off the avenue into the alleyway that leads to our courtyard, the din of daily distractions starts to fade. Each step is an invitation to slow down. You are welcome to pause and breathe in our garden or step right into our humble kitchen for a glass of water or bit of nourishment before class.

We know how hard it can be to disconnect from technology, so we have provided a lounge for you to rest in while you send those last few messages. When you are ready to turn inward, you can leave your belongings in our prop room, trade your devices for blocks, blankets, and bolsters, and pass through our blue velvet curtain into the practice room.

By the time you roll out your mat, you will be ready to receive the gifts of your practice from our extraordinary teachers.

We keep our classes small, generally fourteen students or less, so that we may see and connect with you. You will be guided and supported every step of the way.

The Community

The opening of Blue Heart will bring Paige’s longtime students, the Yoga Krewe community, and new faces from the surrounding Westbank neighborhoods together around the flame of yoga knowledge.

Students are invited to stay after many of Paige’s classes for a cup of our signature tea so they may connect with each other and with her. This type of community gathering, known as sangha in yoga, can be a tremendous source of support both inside the chambers of Blue Heart, and outside as well, as practitioners grow and learn together.

This is the spirit with which Blue Heart was born. We exist to guide you toward ever greater health and vitality, and support you in returning to the state of equanimity and peace that is your birthright.

If you are curious what yoga has to offer you, join us for a class. You don’t need to be flexible, or wear fancy pants. You just need to bring yourself and your curiosity through our door.

Once you're inside, we got you.

Meet the Teachers

Paige

Paige Bradley-Pecoul took her first yoga class from Alvina Haverkamp in 1998. This spark lit a flame that has illuminated her life ever since. Nearly three decades of practice have supported Paige through pivotal life transitions, natural disasters, displacement, and a devastating loss.

Paige’s years of dedicated study have added up to multiple teaching certifications from a variety of programs, including The Temple of Kriya Yoga, Swan River Yoga, and Ananda Seva Mission. Her extensive training, coupled with her personal practice, make her a trusted and sought after teacher. Paige's classes weave wisdom and insight with challenging, yet accessible postural yoga to create a sense of presence that lends itself to deep relaxation and meditation.

In addition to being a yoga educator, class facilitator, and teacher trainer, Paige is an Ayurvedic Health Coach who uses the wisdom of nature’s rhythm to lead clients into longevity, integrity, fulfillment, and ease.

Paige continues to learn and grow as a teacher and community leader. Currently she studies with Kaya Mindlin, and Acharya Shunya.

Debbie

Debbie became a 200 hour Registered Yoga Teacher in March 2017, after she completed a training program designed and led by Paige. The six months of study made her appreciate how much more there is to yoga than the physical practice. The training also enhanced her teaching skills in all arenas of her fitness career.

Debbie’s goal when leading classes has always been to offer a safe, personal space for all ages and abilities. No judgment. No competition. Just a place to achieve quality of life goals through exercise.

“In a noisy and busy world, I like to create a quiet, calm space on the mat.  Over the past few years, I have cultivated the technique of teaching my yoga students to slow down in their practice. This helps to create an awareness of their movements and thoughts while they are practicing.”

Cat

Cat LeBlanc is a 200 Hour Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher, Bellydance Instructor & Performer,  Licensed Zumba® Fitness & STRONG Nation™ Instructor, Barre Intensity Instructor, and NASM Certified Personal Trainer.
Cat’s personal journey of self-evolution began in 2010. This awakened in her a strong passion for motivating women through the transformational power of dance, fitness, and conscious movement. Cat takes pleasure and pride in using her expertise to provide a one of a kind class experience to each of her participants!

“My mission is to Love All and Serve All, through the limitless gift of movement.”

Gaye

Gaye graduated from the Yandara Yoga Institute in Todos Santos, Mexico, after a summer long training and practicum. Shortly after graduation, she received a separate training in Yin Yoga, which has become her passion. Gaye has been leading, teaching, and learning from her students for ten wonderful years.

“I believe that Yoga is multi-faceted, like a gem. This practice seeps into every part of your body and mind!”

Create an account on our OfferingTree website, choose your preferred class, and follow the prompts. Pre-registration is required for all classes at Blue Heart due to our limited class size. If class fills, you will be put on the waitlist. If you are on the waitlist for class, you can sign up for the virtual studio and still practice with us!

It is recommended that you arrive 10-15 minutes before class so you have time to unwind and settle in.

We have everything you need to take a class at Blue Heart. All props are provided.

Wear comfortable clothing you can move in that will stay put on your body. Some people like to wear form-fitting clothing, others prefer loose, baggy clothing. Both are fine. Give some consideration to the fact that your clothes should move with you, and that you do not want to be fidgeting with your clothing if it is constantly shifting while you practice.

In general, our classes accommodate all levels of practitioners, and we always offer modifications to make poses more or less challenging. Beginners are welcome. If a class is geared towards more advanced practitioners, it will be clearly noted on the schedule.

Each class is a little bit different, but in general you should expect to spend some time in silence, some time breathing mindfully, some stretching, some strengthening, and a final deep relaxation.

Only with explicit consent. Without it, we will not put our hands on you.
